Liverpool 1-0 Everton: Tom Garry is at Anfield and here is thoughts on the opening 45 minutes of the derby.
Since the early goal went in, the predominant pattern of play has seen Liverpool with the ball, trying to break down an Everton side who are well-drilled and difficult to open up, and Gareth Taylor’s team – while being in control – might be a tad disappointed they’ve not turned their dominance into a larger scoreline. Everton occasionally have looked threatening on the break, so this game isn’t done yet. The home fans seem satisfied, albeit, not enthralled, at half-time.
Andoni Iraola is here in the stands to support Liverpool. He’s come along with his family. Is he a lucky omen for Gareth Taylor’s side?

Nations League: The Belgium coach Mark van Bommel is relishing the opportunity to pit his wits against Zinedine Zidane but is disappointed that Kylian Mbappé will be missing when they host France in the Nations League on Monday.
Van Bommel got off to a dream start in his first game in charge of Belgium with a 2-0 away win over Italy in their Group A1 game on Friday and said he wants his side to keep up the attacking approach they showed in Rome.
